Where to Stay for O Tempo dos Rios

O Tempo dos Rios is a performance that crosses music, film and literature, taking rivers as its poetic and ecological starting point. It is staged at MUZEU – Pensamento e Arte Contemporânea dst, on Praça do Município in the heart of Braga, in the Minho region of northern Portugal. The proposal, by Martim Sousa Tavares, was created in response to a challenge from ZET, Galeria de Arte, to make an original work for the Alandroal territory and its river, the Guadiana. It builds on the work of composer and multi-instrumentalist Tiago Sousa, whose minimalist, organic music often explores water and fluidity; his compositions are recreated together with the Orquestra Sem Fronteiras. The music is accompanied by an original film by Joana Patrão made for the show, and by readings of original texts by the writer Joana Bértholo, for an immersive, multisensory experience. The concert opens MUZEU's second programming cycle, "(O) nosso negócio é a contemplação da nuvem".
