Braga En'Cena – 2030 is a theatre performance written and directed by Alexandra Moreira, created by Tin.Bra, Artes D'Alegria and Teatro D'Art, and presented in the Sala Principal of Theatro Circo in Braga, in the Minho region of northern Portugal. Set in the year 2030, it imagines a world where all human memory is wiped out overnight. A year's warning let every field of knowledge make backups and preserve its legacy — every field except theatre, whose artists left only videos of themselves reciting Shakespeare's Sonnet 30. A hundred years later Julieta, a master's student, sets out to investigate how theatre disappeared in the 21st century and meets Romeu, a conservation and restoration technician by day and the director of a clandestine theatre group by night. Between erudite quotations and popular culture, anachronistic re-enactments, pimba music and shared madness, she falls for the group of resisters — and for Romeu.
